Employ Humanity recognizes Buckingham as a “creative and inspirational leader”
RADNOR, Pa., September 23, 2020 – Lincoln Financial Group (NYSE: LNC) is pleased to share that Lisa M. Buckingham, executive vice president and chief people, place and brand officer, has been named to Employ Humanity’s 15 Boldly Inspirational Leaders list. The list recognizes leaders across industries who have transformed organizational culture for the betterment of humanity, optimized human potential and achieved excellence.
The chosen leaders were recognized for exhibiting a number of impressive attributes, including creating a culture of excellence; embracing and celebrating diversity; modeling calm, grace and honor in the face of adversity; solving challenges with head and heart and more. According to Employ Humanity’s official announcement, Buckingham was chosen because she is a “creative and inspirational leader” who has helped shape a “culture of strength, courage, integrity, dependability, optimism and respect” at Lincoln.
Buckingham has been at the forefront of Lincoln’s COVID-19 response, which saw the organization shift 99% of its workforce – all but those deemed essential to work from Lincoln offices – to remote work in mid-March. Throughout the crisis, she has strived to keep employees safe, connected, engaged and inspired, as they continue to serve clients while working virtually. Her inspirational leadership extends into the communities Lincoln serves through her oversight of Lincoln’s Foundation, which has donated $2 million to food and housing organizations, serving individuals impacted by COVID-19.
Earlier this year, Buckingham joined forces with fellow HR executives at Accenture, ServiceNow and Verizon to create People + Work Connect, an employer-to-employer initiative formed to combat unemployment caused by COVID-19 by bringing together companies laying off or furloughing people with those companies in urgent need of workers.
A fierce and constant advocate for diversity and inclusion, Buckingham is also working closely with Lincoln’s Chief Diversity Officer, Allison Green Johnson, and in close partnership with president and CEO Dennis Glass to lead Lincoln’s response to racial injustice across the country.
Earlier this year, Buckingham was also recognized on N2Growth’s 2020 Top CHRO List – The People Leaders to Watch for her innovation and leadership.
