RADNOR, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Lincoln Financial Group (NYSE: LNC) announced today that Carey Hobbs joined the company as vice president and head of Variable Annuity Risk Management, effective July 20, 2015. In his new role, Hobbs reports to John Rhodes, senior vice president and chief risk officer for Lincoln Financial Group, and is responsible for overseeing strategy development, technology and the day-to-day management of the hedge program. Hobbs joins Lincoln Financial from Voya Financial (formerly ING U.S. Financial Services), where he most recently served as the head of Market Risk Management.

Hobbs joined Voya in 2006 as the head of Japan Hedging and Performance Management and later became the head of Quantitative Derivative Strategies. Prior to Voya, he served as vice president of Corporate Risk for JPMorgan Chase, and he was also a senior associate with Moody’s Investors Service.

Hobbs holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Physics from Adelphi University. He is also a Graduate Fellow in Physics at Princeton University.
