The GEI provides insight into an opaque area of ESG data reporting.

01 February 2022

RADNOR, Pa., February 1, 2022 – Lincoln Financial Group (NYSE:LNC) is proud to be named one of 418 companies across 45 countries and regions, and various industries and sectors, on the 2022 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI), a modified market capitalization-weighted index that aims to track the performance of public companies committed to transparency in gender-data reporting. The index helps companies and investors measure focus on gender equality across multiple dimensions, including female leadership and talent pipeline, equal pay and gender pay parity, inclusive culture, anti-sexual harassment policies, and a brand that supports women.

“At Lincoln Financial, we’re incredibly proud of our longstanding commitment to gender equality, career advancement and creating an inclusive workplace,” said Jen Warne, EVP, Chief People Officer. “We’re honored to receive this recognition and we look forward to continuing our work to advance opportunity and equality for the women of Lincoln and the women of the financial services industry.”

Today, women comprise 61% of Lincoln’s workforce and hold 51% of all management positions.

“Diversity, equity and inclusion are intrinsic to our culture here at Lincoln,” said Allison Green Johnson, SVP, Chief Diversity Officer. “We maintain a relentless focus on practices to support gender equality, including pay equity, executive development opportunities for women and women-specific resource groups for financial advisors and all employees. We are proud of this recognition and the outstanding contributions of each and every Lincoln employee in building our inclusive culture.”

“We are proud to recognize Lincoln Financial Group and the other 417 companies included in the 2022 GEI for their commitment to transparency and setting a new standard in gender-related data reporting,” said Peter T. Grauer, Chairman of Bloomberg and Founding Chairman of the U.S. 30% Club. “Even though the threshold for inclusion in the GEI has risen, the member list continues to grow. This is a testament that more companies are working to improve upon their gender-related metrics, fostering more opportunity for diverse talent to succeed in their organizations.”

Lincoln Financial Group submitted a social survey created by Bloomberg, in collaboration with subject matter experts globally. Those included on this year’s index scored at or above a global threshold established by Bloomberg to reflect disclosure and the achievement or adoption of best-in-class statistics and policies.
