“Having a Fortune 200 company on our campus to talk with our athletes is a unique opportunity,” said Coach Richardson. “There are many career paths that my athletes may have never known about if it wasn’t for Lincoln Financial’s recruiters taking the time to speak with them.”
Lincoln Financial’s recruiters are teaming up with Temple University’s women’s basketball for their Hoops and Heels program.
Hoops and Heels introduces female athletes to women professionals who can provide mentorship and guidance for life after athletics. As part of the program, Lincoln’s recruiters participated in Q&A sessions and “Chalk Talks” with the team. They also facilitated sessions about financial literacy and personal branding.
Hoops and Heels was created by Head Coach Diane Richardson who is passionate about exposing her athletes to various career opportunities as they near graduation. “Having a Fortune 200 company on our campus to talk with our athletes is a unique opportunity,” said Coach Richardson. “There are many career paths that my athletes may have never known about if it wasn’t for Lincoln Financial’s recruiters taking the time to speak with them.”
This program highlights various roles and companies with open opportunities for students. Lincoln is proud to be recognized as a Hoop and Heels partner for its robust early career talent program.
“As a proud Temple alumna, this partnership makes me especially proud,” notes Jen Warne, Chief People Officer. “Our Recruiting team continues to make an impact through innovative and unique community events like Hoops and Heels. Many thanks to Kayla McLaughlin, Alisha Campbell and Amanda Deren for all your work to make this event a slam dunk!”
