Education Opportunity Provided by Local Nonprofits Receiving Lincoln Financial Foundation Grants

Twelve local nonprofits are providing education opportunity, tutoring, mentorship, financial education and leadership training for youth with the help of $230,000 in education grants recently awarded by Lincoln Financial Foundation. These grants are a portion of nearly $800,000 in charitable funds the Foundation allocated for Hartford in 2017.

Local organizations awarded education grants include:

  • Achieve Hartford to support the All In! Coalition.  
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford for Power Hour: Making Minutes Count.
  • Connecticut Forum for the Connecticut Youth Forum.
  • Connecticut Invention Convention for the Hartford Schools Invention Showcase.
  • Family Life Education to support making pre-kindergarten age inner city children school-ready.
  • Greater Hartford Consortium for Higher Education for college and career readiness.  
  • Hartford Promise to increase the data and research capacity for strengthening Hartford’s college-going culture and increasing the number of Hartford students going to college.
  • Hartford Youth Scholars for Stepping Stones support services for low-income students with academic potential.
  • Leadership Greater Hartford to support Common Ground for emerging high school student leaders.
  • Mark Twain House for experiential education for Hartford students.
  • Our Piece of the Pie for academic services to at-risk youth.
  • Teach For America to support Teach For America corps members working in the Hartford school district.
